The idea was to develop a superior feathering propeller that was user-friendly. That was more than 30 years ago and we are pleased to say we have achieved all our design ambitions and more. Through continuous innovation and rigorous testing SPW has designed and developed the VARIPROP to be the most modern feathering propeller found anywhere in the world.

All VARIPROP are made out of high-strength NIBRAL material for long life.

Variprop 2-Blatt
TheVARIPROP 2-blade (DF 80 and DF 107) is the standard propeller for smaller sailing yachts
Variprop 3-Blatt
the VARIPROP 3-blade is the original standard propeller for sailing vessels with an output of 6 – 100 kW
Variprop 4-Blatt
Variprop "Blue Water": The recommended propeller for blue water conditions and motorsailing or powering in heavy seas and strong headwinds

  • Independently adjustable external pitch control (patented). Forward and Reverse pitches can be changed in just seconds even underwater.
  • Integrated shock absorber (patented) built into the VARIPROP hub
  • All XLS-VARIPROP are sealed to avoid loss of grease from the housing during operation. This ensures long life of the mechanical parts and also substantially extends service intervals.
  • Gears are 35% - 50% larger than competing props 
  • Comes fully assembled - VARIPROP mounts on your shaft just like a solid
    propeller. No disassembly.
